Shine On You Crazy Diamond Head

Whether you love them, or hate them, Metallica pioneered the way for what we know as good ol' headbangin'  heavy metal. But, for each pioneer to take it to the next level, a pioneer before them had to blaze the way up to that point. In this case, the trailblazers are none other than Diamond Head. Diamond Head, one of the biggest influences on our beloved Mr. Hetfield and co. as well as almost every other first generation thrash metal bands.
On the 1987 "The $5.98 E.P. -Garage days Revisited" album you will find a cover of Diamond Head's "Helpless". On the 1983's original print,  "Kill 'Em All", you will find the Diamond Head cover of "Am I Evil?" On the 1998 release of "Garage Inc." You will find "It's Electric" and "The Prince".

In this video, you get to see a pretty damned cool live Metallica performance of "Am I Evil" and "Helpless" featuring none other than the original 4 members of Diamond Head playing alongside. If you look closely, you can see the level of respect Metallica has for them. Like, James shut the fuck up, stood back and just let Sean Harris do it the way it was meant to be done. As an added bonus, you get to see Lars' sweaty nipples. The fuckin' chode.

At any rate. Enjoy this awesome piece of rock and roll history.
